Travis Jon Edward Zitterkoph, 45, passed away Friday, October 4, 2024, at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, MI.
Born on March 3, 1979, in Flint, Travis was the son of Dennis and Peggy (Gardner) Zitterkoph. He attended both Atlanta and Cheboygan Community Schools. Throughout his life, Travis worked in various construction fields running his own business. His work ethic extended to a variety of trades; he spent time cooking professionally and even ventured into commercial fishing in Florida for a year.
Travis had a heart that always held a place for the downtrodden, something he showed both in his business dealings and in the way he treated people. He was always willing to lend a hand, whether it was fixing a car, helping with a project, or offering a listening ear. Despite his own personal struggles, Travis took great pride in helping others with their battles. For a time, he even spoke about recovery addiction at schools, using his own experiences to inspire and support those in need.
Travis had a deep love for the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, playing golf, and watching the Lions play on Sundays.
Travis is survived by his three children, Katelynn (Cody) Zitterkoph and Kylee Zitterkoph of Shephard, MI and Travis Zitterkoph Jr. from Houghton Lake, MI, He also leaves behind his mother Peggy Zitterkoph of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, three sisters, Tina Tennant of Clare, Dawn (Mike) Raines of Farwell, and Misty (Mark) Wilton of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, two brothers, Rob (Darcy) Sewell of Fort Myers, FL, and Bill (Marie) Bennett of Flint, MI. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and close friends.
