Steven “Steve” Lynn Dennis age 80 of Harrison passed away at his home on Saturday, August 27, 2022. Steven was born April 10, 1942, in Fort Wayne, Indiana the son of Oliver Allen Dennis and Martha (Branstrator) Dennis. Steve graduated from Harrison High School in 1960 and was drafted into the United States Army during Vietnam. After he honorably served his country, Steve returned home and was united in marriage to Esther M. Hund on May 8, 1971 at Skeels Baptist Church, Skeels, Michigan. Esther preceded Steve in death on September 18, 2016. On July 25, 2020, Steve was united in marriage to Susan Kaye Narlock.

Mr. Dennis had resided in Harrison since 1947, moving from Roanoke, Indiana. Steve co-owned and operated S&J Sales of Harrison for many years, owned and operated Wheel Wars ATV Park of Harrison and owned and operated S. Dennis Lifting of Harrison for many years. Steve was a member of John J. Carton Lodge #436 F. & A.M.- Harrison and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 2235-Harrison. He enjoyed traveling and camping with his family throughout the United States and Canada, jeeping on back country trails, hunting, woodcutting, grooming his pond, riding his side by side, watching televised boxing and Detroit Lions football. Steve was instrumental in the creation of weekly “Safety Meetings”.

Surviving Mr. Dennis is his wife, Susan Kaye Dennis of Harrison, two children: Dan Dennis and wife Michelle of Harrison and Debbie Coughlin and husband Lee also of Harrison, five grandchildren: Elle Coughlin, Erin Coughlin, Mikayla Dennis, Katelyn Dennis and Collin Dennis, one brother, J. Paul Dennis of Gladwin, Michigan, one sister, Jenny Brenner and husband Bruce of Surprise, Arizona, many nieces, nephews, extended family members and Freckles the family dog. Steve also was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life Gathering honoring Steve will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service, 165 West Oak Street, Harrison.
