Single Engine Plane Crash Fatal in Harrison

On 11-05-21 at approximately 9:30 a.m. Deputies and Troopers responded to a report of a single engine plane crash in the area of Rosina and Townline in Hayes Township. The lone occupant / pilot, a 67-year-old downstate man, was found deceased. The investigation remains under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).    

The pilot has been identified as Theodore Gauthier of Pontiac, Michigan.
Sheriff Deputies were assisted by MSP Mt. Pleasant, Clare PD, the Harrison Fire Department, Mobile Medical
Response Ambulance, the FAA and the NATB.
The investigation remains ongoing by the FAA and NTSB.
