Sharene (Shari) Ellen Dancer of Harrison passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at the age of 71. Shari was born December 18, 1950 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, the daughter of Warren L. Millard and MaryEllen (Horton) Millard. Shari was united in marriage to Lee Dancer on February 13, 1977 in Harrison, Michigan. She was a graduate of Harrison Community Schools and attended Mid Michigan Community College.

Shari was a lifelong member of the Harrison Sportsman’s Club, as well as a contributing member of the First Congregational UCC in Harrison since her marriage. She also contributed to many organizations, including the local Humane Society, St. Jude’s, Clare County Sheriff’s Reserves and many other non-profits she felt passionate about. She was a very giving and caring individual who was always thinking of others and finding fun and unique gifts for both family and friends. She rarely missed a chance to send a card for any occasion. Her husband, children and grandchildren were the absolute loves of her life, along with numerous pets through the years. Those of you who knew her know how much she sincerely loved the neighborhood pets as much as the ones she called her own, as she was always feeding them treats every chance she got.

In her early years, she was an active volunteer at Hillside where her children attended school, helping out with the Parent Teacher Organization monthly, but especially for holidays and special events. She took pride in having a clean and tidy house and had many helpers through the years who she helped train to be wonderful house cleaners. In her mid-life years, she enjoyed watching sci-fi and reality TV, as she went through paperwork at her kitchen table. She took pleasure in carrying on family recipes and sharing the goodies, especially at Christmastime. In her later years, Shari struggled with many health problems, especially after losing Lee. Her favorite meal had to be Friday night fish fry at the Jackpine restaurant, or anytime she could get together with her children for dinner.

Surviving Shari are her two children: Teresa Dancer-Humphres and husband Ian Humphres of Harrison and Tony Dancer and wife Melanie Dancer of Saginaw, MI.; two grandchildren: Orion KenLee Humphres of Harrison and Darren Xavier Dancer of Saginaw; sister-in-law Anne M. Dancer of Clare, sister-in-law Janaine Millard of Saginaw, sister-in-law Kathy Huntley of Bay City, plus many nieces and nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and her beloved cats Snow White, Kallie, Ripper Snipper, and Smokey. Mrs. Dancer was preceded in death by her parents MaryEllen and Warren Millard, her brother Bill Millard, her husband Lee Dancer of thirty-nine years, her in-laws Willard and Ireta Dancer, her brother-in-law Dale Dancer, and her stepson Brian Dancer.

A Celebration of Life Get Together for Shari will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Congregational UCC, 211 West Spruce Street, Harrison for family and friends. Memorial cards in memory of Shari may be considered to the family.
