Saginaw Man Sentenced for 3 Counts of Breaking & Entering

Matthew Kenneth Reid, of Saginaw, Michigan, plead guilty on March 15, 2021, to three counts of breaking and entering a building with intent, as a habitual third offender.  The convictions were a result of an investigation conducted by the Clare County Sheriff’s Department at the Mystic Lake Campground in July 2020.  Several outbuildings had been broken in to with items stolen from those buildings.  On May 17, 2021, Judge Evans sentenced the defendant to serve 13 months to 20 years on each count, to run concurrent with one another, with 0 credit received.  The defendant was on parole at the time, so the 303 days he had served from date of arrest to his date of sentence were not counted as credit for time served.  He was also ordered to pay a total of $1834.00 in associated fines and costs.
