RUMSEY LEE SWALLOW

                Rumsey Lee Swallow 85, long-time resident and businessman of Harrison, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Rumsey was born June 30, 1935 in Owosso, Michigan the son of Arthur Lee and Margaret I. (Nixon) Swallow. Rumsey graduated in 1953 from Farwell High School. Mr. Swallow was united in marriage to Ms. Ruby Violet Loomis on July 30, 1954 at Farwell United Methodist Church, Farwell, Michigan. Rumsey and Ruby had resided in Harrison for over 64 years.

                Rumsey was a land developer, including; Cedar Shores Condominium Campground, Oakridge Condominium Campground and Sandy Shores Condominium Campground. He belonged to many boards, clubs, organizations and had many achievements. He was a hard worker and a very selfless person. Rumsey loved his family and enjoyed helping his children and grandchildren with many home projects throughout his retirement years. He also enjoyed attending many of his great-grandchildren’s sporting events and other activities. He provided great memories that his family will have forever! Rumsey accepted Christ as his Savior.

                Surviving Mr. Swallow is his loving wife and best friend of sixty-six years, Mrs. Ruby V. Swallow of Harrison, one daughter, Cathy Ann Starkweather of Northville, Michigan, one son, Thomas Lee Swallow and wife Terri of, Stanwood, seven grandchildren; Jennifer Root of Lake, City, Michigan, Aleisha Miller of Northville, Teresa Armstead and husband Rob of Weidman, Michigan, Keri Viviano and husband Sam of Bruce Township, Michigan, Lee Swallow and wife Katherine of South Lyon, Michigan, Katie Hoyt and husband Jeff of St. Louis, Michigan and Kevin Swallow and wife Kassi of Saco, Maine, nineteen great-grandchildren, one sister, Billie Jean Sisson of Owosso, Michigan, son in-law, Jim Ashley of Lake, Michigan, two sisters in-law; Sharon Loomis of Delaware, Ohio, one brother in-law, Herb Miller and wife Judy of Farwell, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Mr. Swallow was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Linda Sue Ashley, father in-law and mother in-law, Ken and Ruth Loomis, three sisters in-law; Phyllis Miller, Lois Loomis and Elaine Loomis, four brothers in-law; Ivan Sisson, Bud Loomis, Ed Loomis, Jerry Loomis, and one great-granddaughter, Susan Armstead.
