RUDAFORD “RUDY” RUDOLPH STERRETT SR.

Rudaford “Rudy” Rudolph Sterrett Sr. 85 of rural Harrison passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at his home. Rudaford was born June 3, 1934 in Kennedy, Alabama, the son of Henry V. and Mae O. (Stokes) Sterrett. Mr. Sterrett honorably served his country in the United States Army, spending two years serving in Germany. Rudy was united in marriage to Toby Jane Mann on October 26, 1978 in Harrison. Mrs. Sterrett preceded Rudy in death on August 13, 2008.

                Mr. Sterrett resided in Harrison for many years, moving from Lansing. Big Red retired from Fisher Body of Lansing after thirty-three years of dedicated service. Rudy owned and operated Rudy’s Re-Runs of Harrison for many years. He was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose and a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Rudy was passionate about mowing his lawn and maintaining his yard. He loved being up North, especially his evening side by side rides, going hunting, snowmobiling and boating.  

                Surviving Rudaford is his daughter, Jamie VanHorn of Harrison, one sister, Charlotte Sterrett,  five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many loving nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Nugget. Rudy also was preceded in death by his parents, two sons; Rudy Sterrett Jr. and Randy Ray Sterrett, one sister; Mary Nelson and one brother, Sam Sterrett.
