RONALD “RON” CARL EATON

                Ronald “Ron” Carl Eaton 84 of Harrison passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021, at MyMichigan Medical Center-Gladwin. Ronald was born May 1, 1937, in Flint, Michigan the son of Floyd and Goldagray (Baumgard) Eaton. Ron graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1955. Following graduation, Mr. Eaton honorably served his country in the United States Army. Ron became a certified law enforcement officer with the City of Flint Police Department on November 21, 1961. In seven short years, Mr. Eaton was promoted to Detective on May 6, 1968 and was promoted again on September 4, 1973 to Detective Sergeant, a position he held until his retirement on March 15, 1985. Soon after retiring, Ron went back to work as a self-employed building contractor, then became a maintenance man until he decided to retire a second time in 2004. It was during this time Ron met his wife, Anne. Ron was united in marriage to Ms. Anne R. Belder on October 17, 1997 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

                Mr. and Mrs. Eaton relocated to Harrison from Flint Township, Michigan in 2004. Ron Loved and worshiped his Lord, faithfully studying his Bible and attending the former First Baptist Church of Harrison. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association for many years. Ron was a skilled knife maker, gun repairman and gun stock craftsman. He enjoyed hunting big game throughout the years and was considered a Trophy Sportsman.

                Surviving Mr. Eaton is his wife and best friend of twenty-four years, Mrs. Anne R. Eaton of Harrison, three loving children; William “Bill” Eaton and wife Mary, Mark Eaton and wife Lorrie and Julie Eaton, three step-children; Rob Elder and wife Connie, Sandra Elder and Nathan Elder and wife Stephanie, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one sister, Mavis Meyer, one brother, Gary Eaton and wife Gail, one brother in -law, Harry Laura, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Susan Laura and one brother in-law, Robert.

                Funeral services honoring Mr. Eaton will be held Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 2:00 P.M., from Community Baptist Church, 3088 Mostetler Road, Harrison, with Pastor Ron Callen officiating. Visitation and a time of memory sharing will take place on Thursday, December 23, 2021 from12:00 P.M. until time of services. Burial will be in Summerfield Township Cemetery, Harrison. Military honors will be presented to Mr. Eaton by the United States Department of the Army and American Legion Post 404 Honor Guard.
