ROBERT “BOB” GUILIANI

     Robert “Bob” Guiliani, age 77 of Clare, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023, at home with his wife Linda at his side after a long bout of Cancer.  Bob was born the son of Bernard and Alice (Mish) Guiliani on July 30, 1945 in Norway, Michigan.  He was a graduate of Norway High School, and received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Michigan State University and his master’s degree in chemistry from Northern Michigan University.  He was united in marriage to Linda Bentley in August of 1980.  He had taught Physics and Chemistry at Byron High School for ten years.  He moved to Clare in 1979 and purchased Guys and Dolls Photography in 1980.  He and Linda worked together at the studio for the past 42 years plus; in the early years they had photographed eleven schools, he always enjoyed working with the kids and their enthusiasm.  Bob was a member of the Lions Club, a Past President of the Clare Chamber of Commerce and the Photographer for the Clare Fire Department.  He had been the Past President of the Northern Michigan Professional Photographers, MidMichigan Professional Photographers, and the State Professional Photographers.  Bob was invited to join the Michigan Photographers Society; he had received many awards and was published many times for his photography.  He was selected to receive a National Award for Professional Photography and taught photography at Mid Michigan College for 40 years.  Bob was also a member of the Central Michigan Daylily Society for several years.  Bob’s love for photography allowed him to travel and experience nature through the lens of his camera.  He enjoyed playing the Accordion, the joys of gardening; but just being at home in the woods by the river was his greatest pleasure.

     Bob is survived by his wife Linda; his sister Alice VanEyck and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters Joyce and Kay and a brother Roy.

     A Celebration of Life visitation will be held at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home on Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 1 to 4 P.M.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Clare Fire Department, the Pere Marquette Rail Trail Completion of the Mid Michigan College Photography Department.  On-line condolences may be left at www.stephenson-wyman.com
