RAYMOND HENRY JACOB SR.

                Raymond Henry Jacob Sr. age 80 of rural Harrison passed away at his home on Saturday, July 23, 2022. Raymond was born January 1, 1942 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of Raymond Adolph Jacob and Ann Ethel (Ronan) Jacob. Mr. Jacob enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and honorably served his country during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

                Mr. Jacob was united in marriage to Ms. Carol Taylor on July 25, 1980 in Bridgeport, Michigan. Mrs. Jacob preceded Raymond in death on July 1, 2019 after thirty-eight years of marriage. Raymond had resided in rural Harrison since 1999, moving from Saginaw. He retired from General Motors Corporation in November of 2000, after forty-two years and eight months of employment. Raymond was a life member of the American Legion. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, racing oval dirt track cars, reading and watching all televised sporting events and western movies. Raymond had a life-long dream to see the Detroit Lions win the Super Bowl.

                Surviving Mr. Jacob are his three children: Vicky Fryzel of Midland, Michigan, James Jacob and wife Lori of Canton, Michigan and Samantha Larive and husband Daniel of Harrison, one step-son, Matthew Gray and wife Heather of Ohio, an adopted daughter, Darlene Nielsen and husband Robert of Grayling, Michigan, eighteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Raymond also was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Raymond Henry Jacob Jr., one step-son, Robert Gray Jr., one grandson, one great-grandson, two sisters: Sue and Donnalou and one brother, Gary.

                Inurnment and Military Honors will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan at a later date.
