THOMAS JAMES SWEET

Thomas James Sweet, 77, of 1596 Stoney Mountain Rd., Rougemont, died Monday, September 21, 2020. Born in Detriot, MI, Mr. Sweet was the son of the late Charles and Marie Heinrich Sweet and father of the late Rodney Sweet. Mr. Sweet retired from UNC Hospitals and was a member of East Roxboro Church of God. He was an US Army Veteran. Mr. Sweet enjoyed traveling and camping along with reading, completing crosswords and coloring on his tablet. Most of all, he enjoyed his grandchildren.

Mr. Sweet is survived by his wife, Elsie Ferguson Sweet; his children Ryan Sweet, of Missouri and Robin Sweet Brown (Daniel) of Michigan, Ronald Hodges (Jennifer Cameron), of Rougemont and Stephanie Hodges McAbee (David), of Timberlake; his daughter-in-law, Kim Sweet, of Michigan; his sister, Susan K. Sweet, of Muskegon, MI; eight grandchildren, Jessica Brown Rickett (Timothy), Billy Sweet (Marilyn), Steve Sweet (Marilyn), Zoe Hodges, Brendan Noble, Logan McAbee, Jake McAbee, and Alyssa McAbee; five great-grandchildren, Jasmin, Timothy, Billy, Jr., Kennedy and Carson.

Sunday service will be held in his memory at the East Roxboro Church of God at 11AM Sunday, October 11, 2020 by the Rev. Stuart Aycock.
