Terry Allan MacRae

Terry Allan MacRae, 82, of Houghton Lake passed away on Thursday August 22, 2024 at King Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Houghton Lake. Terry was born on October 16, 1941, in Toledo, Ohio. He moved to the Harrison area at a young age with his parents Clair and Muriel (Carey) Bauserman. After his father's death in 1953, his mother later married Robert MacRae, and he adopted Terry. Terry graduated from Harrison High School. Following High School Terry served as an Aircraft Technician for the US Navy from 1964 to 1968. Terry worked for the family business, Harrison Gas and Oil, while growing up, pumping gas and making fuel deliveries. He then went on to be a salesman for Empire Building Materials serving retail businesses with wood product materials.

On August 4, 1971, in Gladwin, Terry was married to Vivian Lynn Hatfield. The couple lived for many years in Harrison and then Florida, and then moved back to Michigan in Holland, before settling in Houghton Lake in 2007. Terry enjoyed working in his yard and gardening, He was also known as an avid sports fan and golfer.

Surviving Mr. MacRae are his loving wife of 53 years, Vivian Lynn MacRae of Houghton Lake; step daughter, Becky (Lou) Buccilli of Houghton Lake; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and sister, Linda(Greg) Bentley. Terry was preceded in death by his parents; and two stepsons, Douglas Jones, and Jeffrey Jones. At the request of Mr. MacRae there will be no services. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Harrison. Memorial contributions in memory of Terry are asked to be directed to American Cancer Society.
