New Owners, New Features at Kleen Gene’s Laundromat

Posted

Kleen Gene’s of Harrison changed ownership in April but buying a business during a pandemic didn’t phase owners Amanda and Brad Sims.  They have always worked for themselves as owners of Clare Laundry and Mr. Rooter.

Now they are getting their children in on the business.  Their teenage daughter Arianna is responsible for the snack bar and ice cream offerings.  Currently they serve Ashby’s hand dipped ice cream, popcorn, and slushies.  In the future they plan to add pizza, nachos and more. So far, the laundry customers are enjoying the cool treats, but they invite everyone to come into the air conditioning to enjoy a treat.

“We’ve always run our own business and we wanted to bring them into the business so they can learn responsibility and get involved.” Amanda Sims said of her teen daughter, niece, and nephew.

The Sims have added new front-loading washing machines, change machine, and kept up the standard of cleanliness that Kleen Gene’s has always been well known.

Kleen Gene’s is located at 129 N. Second Street in Harrison with two entrances for easy in and out. Snack bar hours are from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
