When highway reconstruction required the moving of property setbacks, the Harrison Moose Lodge was forced to relocate its flagpole. However, upon removal, it became apparent the old pole would no longer be serviceable. Thus, a new flagpole was purchased, along with three new flags, and a ceremony for raising the flags by the Harrison American Legion Honor Guard was slated for Aug. 17. The Stars and Stripes arrived all right and was raised on schedule, but the other two flags were not the correct size, so they will be installed at a later time. The ceremonial flag raising was attended by many of the member lodge’s veterans. Providing trumpet accompaniment for the ceremony was Michael Kirby Jr. of Harrison.
