Middle Michigan Development Corporation Receives $3.5 Million to Distribute to Area Businesses through the Michigan Small Business Restart Program

July 28, 2020 - Mt. Pleasant, MI -- In an effort to support Michigan small businesses that were 
negatively impacted by COVID-19, the State of Michigan issued $100 million of CARES Act
funding towards the Michigan Small Business Restart Program through Senate Bill 690.

Middle Michigan Development Corporation (MMDC) will distribute $3,500,000 in grants through
this program to eligible small businesses located in Arenac, Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Isabella
and Midland counties. Of these, minority-owned, woman-owned and veteran-owned businesses
must receive 30% of the grant dollars made available.

Organizations across the State of Michigan to assist in distributing these funds locally,” stated James McBryde, President and CEO of Middle Michigan Development Corporation. “We are totally committed to assisting the businesses across our region and recognize the positive impact these funds will have on both businesses and communities alike.”
Businesses interested in applying for up to $20,000 in grant funding are encouraged to do so at http://michiganbusiness.org/restart. Applications will be accepted between July 15th and August
5th, 2020.
