Michigan Department of State launches Partners in Democracy page promoting voter engagement, turnout

Posted

The Michigan Department of State (MDOS) announced the launch of its Partners in Democracy web page today to provide information on statewide and national organizations joining in the work of engaging voters within their communities, as well as information and resources for groups interested in voter engagement and turnout efforts ahead of November.

“Our top priority ahead of November is ensuring every Michigan voter understands their rights and how to exercise them,” said Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson. “Our Partners in Democracy have joined us in that work, and we’re excited to be able to offer resources that ensure organizations across the state are able to provide clear, accurate and timely information about the election to the people and communities they’re working with.”

The web page will provide information including a voter engagement digital toolkit, a calendar of key elections-related dates ahead of November, and additional resources for organizations on how to communicate relevant election information to Michigan voters. The Partners page also provides information about organizations who have signed up as Partners so far, and the communities they serve, highlighting both their contributions to the work of voter engagement in the state as well as providing contact information for representatives from those groups.

Those looking to utilize the Partners in Democracy platform, or to receive a Partners in Democracy designation, can visit Michigan.gov/SOSPartnersInDemocracy.
