The Farwell boys basketball team bid for a win went unclaimed on Tuesday, Jan. 28. The Eagles were playing a road Jack Pine Conference game with Meridian, and they were unable to hang with the Mustangs, falling 70-20.
In the first quarter, Dylan Mitchell hit a three pointer, and the Eagle defense kept Meridian in check; and they were down just 10-3 after one. That deficit jumped to 28-7 by the half however, and after three it was 50-15.
Mitchell hit two threes in the game and led the team in scoring with six points. Walker Brown and Rylee Sprague were able to get three points apiece and adding two each were Mason Esterline, Ayden Barkley, Asher Yarhouse and Seth Burkhart.
Farwell (0-15 overall) had a road game up at Ogemaw Heights on Tuesday, hosts Beaverton on Friday and will have a home contest with Genesse on Monday. The Eagles will also head to Harrison on Tuesday, Feb. 11.
