MELVIN “MEL” GALE SEDRICK

Melvin “Mel” Gale Sedrick 81 of Harrison passed away Monday, April 20, 2020 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland. Melvin was born November 28, 1938 in Flint, Michigan the son of Walter and Ella (Mead) Sedrick. Mr. Sedrick honorably served his country in the United States Army National Guard for six years. Mel was united in marriage to Ms. Margaret E. Malmstrom on September 1, 1962 in Flint.

                Mr. Sedrick had resided in Harrison since 1996, moving from Goodrich, Michigan, following his retirement from General Motors Corporation of Grand Blanc after thirty-one years of dedicated service. Mel is a member of Harrison Moose Lodge and Family Center #2235. He enjoyed wintering the last twelve years at Avon Park, Florida with his wife, where they were very active with various outdoor activities and volunteering at a handicap community as well as Special Olympics of Florida and Heartland Horses and Handicapped, Inc. of Avon Park.  Mel enjoyed golfing, woodworking, making people smile with his storytelling and jokes. Mel never met a stranger, as he was very outgoing and held a great love of people.

                Surviving Mr. Sedrick is his loving wife of fifty-seven years. Mrs. Margaret E. Sedrick of Harrison, one son, Greg Sedrick, two grandchildren, his Amish community friends and special friends; Darrell and Sherry Weldon and Bob Kuhr. Mr. Sedrick was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Walt Sedrick.

                Celebration of Life services for Mr. Sedrick will be announced at a later date. Memorial gifts in memory of Mel may be considered to the Sedrick family, in care of: Margaret E.
