MARY ELLEN BABCOCK

                Mary Ellen Babcock 87 of Harrison passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. Mary was born August 8, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Henry Houtteman and Ellis (Duroney) Houtteman. Mary was united in marriage to Mr. Robert John Babcock on July 10, 1954 in Detroit. Mr. Babcock preceded Mary in death on April 22, 2001 after forty-six years of marriage.

                Mrs. Babcock had resided in Harrison since 1989, moving from Roseville, Michigan. Mary was a faithful member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Harrison since 1989. Mary had worked at Ashcrafts Markets of Harrison as a Cashier for eight years. She was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 1075 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the American Legion Post 404 Ladies Auxiliary. Mary enjoyed knitting baby clothing and blankets, spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and celebrating and decorating for Christmas.

                Surviving Mrs. Babcock are her two children; Kimberly Babcock of Harrison and Kevin Babcock and wife Cindy of Harrison, twelve grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Mary also was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters; Karen Babcock and Kathleen Babcock, one brother and one sister.

                A Funeral Mass celebrating Mary will be held Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. from St. Athanasius Catholic Church, 310 South Broad St., Harrison with Rev. Father J. Marcel Portelli officiating. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Inurnment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Harrison.
