Marla Jean McVicar

                  Marla Jean McVicar 63 of Harrison passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Monday, December 27,2021.  Marla was born on October 15,1958 in Caro, Michigan.  She was the youngest child of Harvey Hoornstra and Iva (Heck) Hoornstra.  Marla was united in marriage to Mr. Gregory Allen McVicar in 1976 in Gladwin, Michigan.

               Mrs. McVicar had resided in Harrison for 50 years moving from Milford, Michigan Marla was passionate about spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.  Mrs. McVicar loved her dog and two cats dearly.  She enjoyed being outside, traveling and camping. Marla found great joy in participating in old car shows. She had a passion for floral gardening.  In her younger years Marla volunteered her time at the VFW.

                Surviving Mrs. McVicar is her loving husband of 46 years. Mr. Gregory McVicar of Harrison, her two children; Tabitha and husband Joshua Snow of Harrison and Cody McVicar and wife Katherine McVicar also of Harrison, four grandchildren: Connor Snow, Katie Snow, Nathaniel McVicar and Sophia McVicar, three brothers: Skip Hoornstra and wife Patricia of Clinton Township, Michigan, Gary Hoornstra and wife Lucy of Mountain Home, Missouri and Steve Hoornstra also of Mountain Home, plus, many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Mrs. McVicar was preceded in death by her parents.

A Life Celebration gathering in honor of Mrs. McVicar will be held Saturday, January 01,2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, 165 West Oak Street, Harrison. Inurnment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Harrison. Memorial gifts in honor of Marla may be considered to the McVicar family, in care of: Mr. Gregory McVicar.
