MARIAN “NANA” “AUNT B” LOUISE VIDA

Marian “Nana” “Aunt B” Louise Vida 81 of rural Harrison passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 12, 2019. Marian was born June 25, 1938 in Jackson, Michigan the daughter of Carl Lee Iverson and Rosella Josephine (Schramm) Iverson. On August 2, 1958 in Ecorse, Michigan, Marian was united in marriage to Mr. Lester Joseph Vida.

                Mrs. Vida had resided in Harrison since January 1, 1995, moving from Grosse Ile, Michigan, formerly from Ecorse, Michigan. Marian retired from Ford Motor Company in 1995 after thirty-five years of dedicated service.  Mrs. Vida attended St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Harrison for many years. She was a member of SAM(S), where she volunteered her quilting talents and helped create quilts for veterans and their families. Marian enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends, floral gardening, reading her magazines, cross stitching, traveling with her niece and cheering for her beloved Detroit Red Wings. Marian’s greatest passion was spoiling her grandson, two great-granddaughters and watching her son and daughter play hockey.

                Surviving Mrs. Vida is her loving husband of sixty-one years, Mr. Lester Joseph Vida of Harrison, two daughters; Diane Vida of Harrison and Michele Milligan of Lincoln Park, Michigan, one son, Lester J. Vida III of Harrison, one grandson, Joshua Michael Vida and wife Aliyah, two great-granddaughters; Gaia Castrop and Aurora Vida, four sisters; Nancy Muncy of Ohio, Jean Grodi and husband Wayne of Clark Lake, Michigan, Lucille Wright and husband Harvey of Bath, Michigan and Barbara Aldinger and husband Bill of New Hudson, Michigan, four brothers; John Iverson of Tennessee, Duane Iverson and wife Joan of Pleasant Valley, Michigan, Kenneth Iverson of Grass Lake, Michigan and Richard Iverson and wife Karen of Eaton Rapids, Michigan and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members. Mrs. Vida was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Joyce Smith and one brother, Earl Iverson.

                Funeral services for Mrs. Vida will be held Sunday, December 15, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison. Visitation will take place Sunday, December 15, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Harrison.
