MARGARET JEAN HECKERT

Margaret Jean Heckert 86, formerly of Farwell, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Medilodge of Clare. Margaret was born September 18, 1934 in Mount Pleasant, Michigan the daughter of Wiley and Juanita Guthrie. Margaret was united in marriage to Mr. Michael John Heckert on January 14, 1951. Mr. Heckert preceded Margaret in death in 2005.

                Mrs. Heckert had resided in Farwell since 1995, moving from Frederic, Michigan. Margaret was employed with Bear Archery of Grayling for many years, prior to moving from Frederic. She enjoyed assembling puzzles, embroidering, solving puzzle books, cooking, baking, attending yard sales, where she was known to find “the perfect deal.” Margaret enjoyed caring and spoiling her family and held a great love for all dogs and cats.

                Surviving Margaret are her seven children: Mick Heckert and wife Lynn of Lake Orion, Michigan, Nancy Timmers and husband Henry of Mancelona, Michigan, Linda Ray of Cheboygan, Michigan, Julie Haller of Farwell, Dave Heckert and wife Sandy of Harrison, Steven Heckert and wife Kim also of Harrison and Scott Heckert of Clinton Township, Michigan, twenty grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, plus several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Mrs. Heckert was also preceded in death by her parents, two daughters: Donita Bennett and Cathy Bunce, and one sister, Donna Harliss.
