Local Men Save Day for Budd Lake Kayaker

Posted

Being a hero is not a title one asks for and we typically associate heroism with police officers, fire fighters, doctors and nurses, and rightfully so.

Although Jeff and Buster Vasher are heroes in terms of serving our fire department for decades, they took on another role on Friday, May 15, 2020. Taking a break from the crazy times we are faced with today, Jeff and Buster decided to take their new duck boat for a ride on Budd Lake. While they were out there, they both noticed a kayak tipped over in the very cold water. Without a second thought, they rushed over to pull a man out of the water. He had flipped over and needed help. Of course, Jeff and Buster were in the right place at the right time and thankfully helped this man to safety.

Even when times are crazy and one wants a little break, duty calls and without fail, Jeff and Buster answer. That is true heroism and deserving of the title HERO. Thank you for your continued service to the town of Harrison and its visitors.
