I would like to acknowledge and thank two recent participants in our local election: one a candidate and one an official. To Brian Coon, thank you for your clean and informative campaign, and mostly your gracious congratulations of the victor. This is the way political races are supposed to be run. You are a class act.

To Lori Mott, thank you for your excellent letter on the extensive measures taken to ensure a free, fair, and trustworthy election for our county. In a time of increasing mistrust of our institutions and personal peril for our public servants, this is a smart and diligent implementation of your duties.
