LAVINA ELFRIEDA “FRIEDA” TOMES

Lavina Elfrieda Tomes “FRIEDA” 91 passed away August 27, 2020 in her daughter’s home in California. Frieda died peacefully in her sleep. 

She leaves her daughter Susan Tomes, son John W. Tomes Jr., granddaughter Angela Mendicina and two great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her spouse John W. Tomes in 2018, her sister Millie in 02/2020, and most recently her eldest son Butch in 03/2020.  All of which was too much to bear. 

Frieda held her friends from Harrison, Michigan very near and dear to her heart.  She spoke about them often with memorable thoughts.  When asked what she would like to be doing, her response was “working”.  She so enjoyed meeting new people and working at her businesses in Harrison.  She always said, “people from Michigan are wonderful people”.
