LARRY DUANE BEADLE

Larry Duane Beadle, 85 of Harrison passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 8, 2020, surrounded by family. Larry was born July 7, 1935 in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, the son of Loyal and Lucille (Sprague) Beadle. Larry graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1953. Upon his high school graduation, Larry enlisted in the United States Air Force and honorably served his country during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Beadle was united in marriage to Ms. Anna (Betty) Ehrhardt on November 3, 1959, in Auburn, Michigan.

                Larry was an active member in the Harrison Community. He was co-owner and meat cutter of Northland IGA of Harrison, alongside his brother, Mike Beadle for 41 years. Larry was known for his leadership and involvement, serving on many boards, such as; Independent Food Retailers Association for more than 40 years, Michigan Grocers Association and Retail Employers Benefit Trust. Not only was Larry a part of the business scene in Harrison, he was an active member of the community, serving on the Harrison School Board, Harrison Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors for many years, where he took great joy and pride in presenting the firework display each fourth of July. He was also very active in supporting the Clare County 4H program. Larry enjoyed a good game of golf, where he took his tournaments seriously. He bowled on many leagues throughout the years, and was considered a true sports card enthusiast. Larry considered fishing as his true passion as he loved the sport and challenge.

                Surviving Larry is his loving wife Betty of Harrison, two daughters; Valerie McClellan and husband Mark of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Anna Sharp and husband Tim of Clare, Michigan, one son, Stephen Beadle of Harrison, eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, one sister, Sally Beadle-Gross and husband Larry Gross of Harrison, one brother, Mike Beadle and wife Darla of Harrison, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Mr. Beadle was preceded in death by his parents.

                Funeral services honoring Larry will be held Monday, October 12, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. from Brown Corners Church, 5540 South Clare Avenue, Clare, Michigan 48617, with family and friends officiating.  Visitation will take place Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Brown Corners Church from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Monday, October 12, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Inurnment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Harrison. Memorial gifts in memory of Larry may be considered to the Beadle Family, in care of: Mrs. Betty Beadle.
