KENNETH “KEN” DALE LEPOSKY

                Kenneth “Ken” Dale Leposky age 68 of Toledo, Ohio passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, January 6, 2022. Kenneth was born August 17, 1953 in Gladwin, Michigan the son of John E. Leposky and Lillian V. (Hoard) Leposky. Kenneth graduated from Harrison Community Schools in 1971. While attending school, Ken was very active in school sports, excelling in football and basketball. Soon after his graduation, Kenneth enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and honorably served his country during the Vietnam War as a helicopter Crew Chief. Upon successful completion of Boot Camp, Ken earned the Spiritual Medal of Honor as well as the distinguished Leatherneck Award. While serving as Crew Chief his flight team successfully evacuated members of the United States Embassy in Vietnam and Cambodia.

                Soon after Ken was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps, he worked beside his father learning and perfecting his skill of welding and fabricating at various oil fields. Later in his adult life, Ken became a skilled handyman. Mr. Leposky enjoyed mushrooming, known for his sense of seeking out the elusive mushrooms. He was very musically inclined on the guitar, many times playing alongside his brother, Michael. When Ken needed some extra cash, he would hustle his pool playing skills at many pool halls, as well as he was a fierce dart player, wining many a bet at games. Ken bowled professionally for a while in Michigan, winning several trophies for his “over 200” average. Ken enjoyed following the Detroit Pistons as well as the Detroit Lions. Kenneth’s greatest accomplishment in his life was celebrating his sobriety of fourteen years.

                Surviving Mr. Leposky is his loving mother, Lillian V. Leposky of Harrison, two sisters; Gerri Walton and husband Steven of Shepherd, Michigan and Barbara Smith of Gaylord, Michigan, one brother, Michael Leposky and wife Donna LeRoy of Christmas, Michigan, Lorie Selleck of Toledo, Ohio his best friend of thirty years,  one niece, Amy Smith and Josh Forman of Pennsylvania, six nephews; Troy Smith and wife Cindy of Michigan and Todd Smith and wife Sheila of Michigan, Scott Cooley and wife Teresa of Alaska, Jeff Cooley and wife Janet of Tennessee and Jason Parker of Tennessee and Chad Smith and wife Meghan of Floida, four great-nieces; Sarah and Lillian Cooley of Alaska, Jaylin Smith of Michigan, Abby Barrett of London, England and three great-nephews; Robert Cooley of Alaska, Dan Smith of Michigan and Dmitri Smith of Michigan. Ken was preceded in death by his father, John E. Leposky.

                Life Celebration services and Military Honors for Mr. Leposky will be held at a later date in the summer of 2022. Inurnment will be in Hatton Township Cemetery, Clare, Michigan.
