Kathleen “Kappy” Ann Watt (Eaton-Battle)

Kathleen Ann Watt age 88, of Gaylord, Michigan, passed away at her home on Sunday, November 3, 2024. Kathleen was born April 14, 1936, in Clare, Michigan the daughter of Raymond Eaton and Elva (Horning) Eaton. She spent her early years in Harrison and later in the 1950’s her family moved to Shepherd, Michigan. Kathleen graduated high school in 1954 from Shepherd High School.

Kathleen moved to Clare, and married Francis “Frank” Battle. Together they raised five children before Frank preceded her in death at a young age. Kathleen then married Mike Watt; he also preceded her in death in 2008. In 2021, Kappy moved to Gaylord to live with her son Kevin and daughter-in-law, Wanda. Over the span of several years, Kappy worked for the Michigan Masonic Home, Alma, Michigan, Tupperware of Harrison and Worldtronic of Clare. Kathleen enjoyed playing piano for several area churches, which allowed her to express her love for her Lord

Kappy is survived by her five children; Rick Battle of Farwell, Sharon Nash and husband Dale of Pine Mountain Valley, Georgia, Kim Davis and Ray Simpson of St. Johns, Michigan, Kevin Battle and wife Wanda of Gaylord and Don Battle and wife Lori Battle of Harrison, one step-daughter, Ramee Watt of Corvallis, Oregon, plus eighteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, one sister, Barb Longstreth  and husband Bernie of Farwell, two step-sisters; Barbara Lloyd of Cedar Springs, Michigan and Brenda Longstreth and husband Walt of Clare, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Kappy was preceded in death by her parents, husbands; Frank Battle and Mike Watt, one daughter-in-law, Linda Battle, three grandchildren; Johnny Battle, Joey Battle and Samechia Battle and one step-son, Kenny Watt. Kappy will be truly missed by all.

Funeral services honoring Mrs. Watt will be held Friday, November 8, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. from Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service, Harrison with Mr. Butch Fleming officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Graveside services will immediately follow at Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Harrison. Family and friends are encouraged to gather after services for a luncheon and memory sharing at: First Congregational UCC Church, 211 West Spruce Street, Harrison. Memorial gifts in memory of Kappy may be considered to: Otsego County Commission on Aging or Clare County Senior Services.
