Joyce A. Howell, age 84 of Lake George, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at the MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland.  Joyce was born the daughter of Carl and Gladys (Bush) Stoney on September 3, 1936 in Lansing.  She was united in marriage to Charles L. Howell on November 3, 1956 in Lansing with him predeceasing her on July 19, 2001.  Joyce had lived in Garden City where she had worked as a Secretary at the Henry Ruff School in Garden City where she helped a lot of young kids go down the right path in life.   At one time she had owned a dress shop in Plymouth called The Young Sophisticates; she and Charles had moved to Lake George in 1982.  She had owned and operated the Swiss Inn in Lake George for 13 years where she brought a lot of joy to many lives.  Joyce loved to tend her yard and garden; she enjoyed watching the Hummingbirds in her flowers.

 Joyce is survived by her son Chet (Tammy) Howell of Lake George; her grandson Chaz Michael (Kailin Glazier) Howell; her great grandson Chet Michael Howell and two great step granddaughters Raegan and Trinity Glazier.  Joyce was predeceased by her brother Gary Stoney.

 In keeping with her family’s wishes cremation has taken place with a celebration of Joyce’s life to be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.  Arrangements were handled by the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman.  On-line guestbook at www.stephenson-wyman.com.
