John William Clark, age 92 of Harrison, MI, left this life on December 31, 2022, at MediLodge in Clare, MI, following several weeks of battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully in the company of family and friends.

John was born on May 25, 1930, in Roseville, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his father-Marriott, mother-Mildred, and brother-William. He is survived by his children, John (Margaret), Gail Thomas, and Frank (Pamela), six grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren, as well as many nephews/grand nephews and nieces/grandnieces from his children and his brother William’s family.

John graduated from Roseville High School (Roseville, MI) in 1948, then served in the US Army during the Korean war. He lived in northern California for several years, earned his BS in psychology from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO, attended graduate school at Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ, worked in research at the American Institute for Research in CA, and eventually made his way back to Harrison, MI, where he cared for his mother Mildred for several years. John had a servant’s heart, in addition to being a volunteer for the senior ride assist through the social security services of Harrison for many years, he was a tutor, mentor, and close friend to neighbors Sara, Dani, and Andy, as well as several other children that lived in the trailer park where he also resided. He cared deeply for people, and shared every bit of wisdom he had, as well as any other resources available to him with others.

Interment will be at Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Harrison, MI. A memorial service is in the planning stages for late spring/early summer 2023 at Harrison City Park, Harrison, MI.

John was a beloved son, grandson, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend, he will be deeply missed.
