JOHN “REED” DAVID RICHARDSON

John “Reed” David Richardson born in Logan, West Virginia on October 23, 1960 and passed away suddenly on May 3, 2020 in Harrison, MI.  A resident of Grosse Pointe Farms,  he is survived by his loving wife and copilot Wendy of 33 years, his children Jessica (Robert) Bailiff, Reed, Joshua (Kristi Walker), Sarah (David Kracht) and Tristin Richardson as well as his soon-to-be grand baby, his grand pups Marley, Sami, Hank and Ellie and his grand cats Marvin and Lil G. He is also survived by his sisters Jean (Gary) Hill, Kaye Barnes, and Barbara Richardson, brother Sherman Crum, father-in-law Herman “Sonny” Gorenflo, brother-in-law, and one of his best friends, Gary (Lisa) Gorenflo, sister-in-law Jill (Andy) Bunting and his niece Cindy (Rick) Vandermeiden and her son Travis who he had an  especially close relationship with that he considered them as another daughter and grandson.  He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, that he loved very much — as well as countless friends and coworkers that he considered family. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Maude Richardson that he missed so dearly, brothers George “Brickey” and Dennis Richardson, brother-in-law Tony Barnes, mother-in-law Donna Gorenflo, great aunt Suzi Hicks as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.

John was a hardworking man that recently retired from Superior and Patrico Transit Mix after 35 years. His passion in life was going for rides with his wife, being a devoted father to his five kids, making people laugh uncontrollably (most of the time by saying inappropriate things), hunting and sitting at the bonfires with his sons, brothers, and nephews, and anything pertaining to sports. He coached Michigan Heat Baseball for a number of years which was one of his great joys because of his love of the game and all the kids, their families, and those he coached with. He will be missed by so many, but his jokes and the love that he gave everyone will carry on.
