JOHN “POPS” THOMAS SHUGG JR.

                John “Pops” Thomas Shugg Jr. 76 of Harrison passed away suddenly due to a house fire on Wednesday, November 19, 2020. John was born September 30, 1944 in Ann Arbor, Michigan the son of John Thomas Shugg Sr. and Tressie Gertrude (Bloom) Shugg. John had resided in Harrison since 1979, moving from Ypsilanti, Michigan.

                Mr. Shugg was owner and operator of John’s Lawn and Home Care of Harrison for over twenty-five years. Pops enjoyed fishing, ice fishing, hunting, camping, motorcycling, tinkering in his garage, and spending time with family and friends.

                Surviving Mr. Shugg are his six children; Earl Steven Garrett and wife Suzanne of Atlanta, Michigan, Charlene Knapp of Channing, Michigan, Joanne Bond and husband Tim of Harrison, John Shugg III of Cadillac, Michigan, Chris Lobdell and wife Julie of Harrison and Tom Shugg of Mount Pleasant, Michigan, sixteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, one sister, Donna Prieskorn and husband Linton of Ann Arbor, many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Mr. Shugg was preceded in death by his parents, two granddaughters; Brianna and Torri, his companion and best friend of eighteen years, Ms. Diane Lobdell and his beloved dog and loyal companion Axel who perished in the house fire beside him.
