Janet Marie Kolander-Campbell

Janet Marie Kolander-Campbell 71 of Harrison, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center-Midland. Janet was born July 29, 1953, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the daughter of Laura Lee (Peck) Kolander and Alvin T. Kolander. Janet was a graduate of Harrison Community Schools, class of 1971. Janet has resided in Harrison for the majority of her lifetime. She spent many years working as: cook, waitress and bar manager of the Sportsman’s Bar and Restaurant of Harrison. She also worked as a bus aide with Dean Transportation as well as an aide with RESD. Her last job was with Steve’s Country Meats.

                Janet was an avid pool player and golfer and movie goer with her son. She will be fondly remembered for her love of a “good Diet Coke” as well as her generous giving of her homemade cookie baskets at Christmas for her family, friends and community members. She was always a shoulder to lean on, a caring friend, warm welcomer and never judged or critiqued anyone.

                Surviving Janet is her loving son and daughter-in-law, John and Laura Campbell of Mt. Pleasant, one brother, Don Kolander of Harrison, one niece, Jenna Kolander, one nephew, Tim Kolander, two great nieces: Cylie Kolander and Malia Love and two great nephews, Caleub and Bentley Kolander, her beloved grand dog, Scooter of Mt. Pleasant, plus many other extended family and friends. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, Tommy Kolander and her son’s father, Fred Campbell.

                Celebration of Life services honoring Janet will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. from Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service, 165 W. Oak Street, Harrison with Mr. Ben Evers officiating. Family will receive guests from 11:00 a.m. until time of service for a time of sharing.
