Janet “Jan” Matthes, 91 years of age, passed away peacefully with family at her bedside. Jan and her husband were residents of Harrison, Michigan since 1969. She and her husband were together 56 years before his passing in 2007.
Jan belonged to St. Athanasius Church and was involved with several social and community service events at the church.
Jan is survived by her children Kathy Metcalfe, Debbie St. Dennis, Kevin Matthes, Eric Matthes, Cindy Harris and Sheila Allen. She also had ten grandchildren who called her grandma and several great grandchildren who called her GG.
Celebration of Life service will be held at Clark Stocking Funeral Chapel on Saturday July 27, 2024, at 1:00 pm. 165 W. Oak St., Harrison, MI. Reverend Connie Bongard will officiate. Lunch will be served immediately after the service at the American Legion Hall located at 1267 M-61, Harrison Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, Clare County Senior Services may be considered as a way to honor Jan. Donations may be sent to 225 W. Main St., Harrison, Michigan. 48625.
