                James “Jimmy Dale” “Chili Mac” Dale McCarver age 71 of Harrison passed Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at MyMichigan Medical Center-Midland. James was born May 19, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan the son of James Waymon McCarver and Naoma Ruth (Harvey) McCarver. Mr. McCarver honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. James was united in marriage to Ms. Marigay Catherine LaPorte on March 4, 1973 in Detroit, Michigan. Marigay preceded James in death on May 11, 2015 after forty-two years of marriage.

                Jimmy Dale had resided in Harrison since 2001, moving from Roseville, Michigan. He was a member of the American Legion Post 404-Harrison, VFW Pettit-Kapplinger Post 5738-Clare and Harrison Moose Lodge and Family Center #2235. The Chili Mac enjoyed dancing, singing karaoke, playing Keno and the Claw Machine, watching televised college and professional football and baseball, reading and watching old western movies.

                Surviving Mr. McCarver are his seven children; Leslie McCarver and Rebecca Keeney of Novi, Michigan, James McCarver and wife Monica of Hersey, Michigan, Cathy McCarver and fiancé’ Vern Stephison of Harrison, Susan McCarver and Steven Skaggs of Harrison, Jacquetta Jean LaPorte and fiancé’ Jordon Bailey of Harrison and Robert James McCarver also of Harrison, ten grandchildren; Jesse Ingalls-Johnson, Danielle McCarver, Lauren McCarver, Jaysen Stephison, Claire McCarver, Roy McCarver Jr., Caleigh McCarver, Emilee Stephison, Jordon Bailey Jr., and Jayde Bailey, two sisters; Anita Nowlin of Arizona and Barbara Morrison of Georgia, three brothers; Thomas McCarver of California, Roy McCarver and wife Lannis of Roseville, and George McCarver and wife Liz of Roseville, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family. Mr. McCarver was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Danny Ray McCarver, two sisters in-law; Karen McCarver and Darla McCarver and two brothers in-law; Jimmy Lee Nowlin and Dwayne Morrison.

                Funeral services for James will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, 165 West Oak Street, Harrison. Visitation will take place on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the American Legion Post 404 Honors Team and the United States Marine Corps.
