JAMES “JIM” WALLINGTON HALL

James Wallington Hall, age 85, of Harrison, passed away on December 30, 2019.  James was born on January 11, 1934, the son of Frederick G. Hall and Ethel Haley-Hall. In the spring of 1955, he married Geraldine Hayward and they had two children together.   James attended Sacred Heart Grade School and was a graduate of Lorie High School, Class of 1952.  James earned his Associate Degree in 1959 at Henry Ford Community College. He began working at Ford Motor Company at the age of 16.  During his 39 year career at Ford, he worked at the Rouge and Woodhaven plants as well Ford Engineering.  James began his career on the plant floor, and moved up through the drafting room, into tool and die, and finally closing out his Ford career as a Quality Engineer. 

James is survived by his daughter Janet (Eric) Wigner of Tecumseh; son James (Melissa) Hall of Garden City: sister, Pat (Jerry) Wacker; brother John (Sherri) Hall and many nieces and nephews.  James was preceded in death by his parents.   He was a parishioner of Saint Athanasius Catholic Church, and an active member of the Knights of Columbus council #7571, including being a Grand Knight.  James was most happy working on cars and watching NASCAR.  He enjoyed his retirement years in the Harrison community.  Whether spending time at J&G’s garage, or sitting at the Jackpine round table, interacting with his Harrison family was an important part of his daily routine.  He would want you to know that you all made a big difference in his life.  Lastly, his nature friends provided him with great entertainment.  He enjoyed watching and talking to all of the wildlife roaming through his woods and visiting his many feeders.

                A Funeral Mass celebrating Jim will be held Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Athanasius Catholic Church, 310 S. Broad Street, Harrison, with Rev. Father J. Marcel Portelli officiating. Visitation will take place Friday, January 3, 2020 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, 165 W. Oak St., Harrison. Burial will be in St. Athanasius Catholic Cemetery, Harrison. Memorial gifts in memory of Mr. Hall may be considered to: Clare-Gladwin Regional Education Service District, 4041 E.
