JAMES “JIM” LEE SUTFIN

                James “Jim” Lee Sutfin age 88 of Howell, Michigan formerly of Harrison, Michigan passed away peacefully on Monday, February 14, 2022 at Village Manor Retirement of Howell. James was born April 5, 1933 in Livingston County, Michigan the son of James A. Sutfin and Naomi (Jackson) Sutfin. Mr. Sutfin enlisted in the United States Navy and honorably served his country during the Korean Conflict. James was united in marriage to Ms. Juanita E. Yardley on July 3, 1969 in Brighton, Michigan. Mrs. Sutfin preceded Jim in death on October 20, 2010 after forty-one years of marriage.

                Mr. Sutfin retired from the State of Michigan after many years of dedicated service. Jim had resided in Howell since 2019, relocating from Harrison. Mr. Sutfin enjoyed traveling, spending winters in Florida, snowmobiling excursions with his family, hunting and fishing.

                Surviving Mr. Sutfin is his son, Mark Sutfin and wife Terri of Fenton, Michigan, two grandchildren; Jacob Sutfin and Ashley Gleason and husband Ricky, two great-grandchildren; Brooklyn Gleason and Maeva Gleason, two sisters; Jenny Swainke and husband Larry of California and Ella McClatchey and husband William “Butch” of Howell, three brothers; Leon Sutfin and wife Imogene of Fowlerville, Michigan, Ellis Sutfin and wife Ruthie of Naubinway, Michigan and Ernie Sutfin and wife Julie of Swartz Creek, Michigan, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family. Mr. Sutfin also was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Fran Westphal.

                Graveside services and military honors for Mr. Sutfin will be held Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. from Sanford Cemetery, 2115 Chase Lake Road, Howell, Michigan 48855.
