Information Sought in Clare Arson Fire

The Clare Police Department along with the Clare Fire Department is investigating an arson fire at 504 Pine St. in the city of Clare. The call came into central dispatch at 5:06 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3.

The Clare Fire Department arrived and began to extinguish the flames of this vacant residence. After the flames were put out, the investigation showed that there was an attempt to start a fire on the first floor of the house, along with evidence on the second level of where the fire was started.

The entire upper level of the home is a complete loss. The Clare police department is following up on several leads and tips.

The Clare Fire department was assisted at the scene by Harrison and Surrey Fire. MMR and the Clare County Sheriff Department were also on the scene.
