Harrison Woman Pleads Guilty to 2019 Run from Police in Walraven's Market Truck

Multiple Sentences for Habitual Offender

Nicole Marie Trotter, from Harrison, plead guilty on February 19, 2020, to Flee and Elude 3rd degree, Police Officer – Resist and Obstruct (two counts), and Unlawful Driving Away Motor Vehicle, as a habitual 4th offender. She also plead guilty to a probation violation in a 2017 case. These convictions stemmed from her actions on April 28, 2019, when she fled on foot from police, jumped a fence at Walraven’s Market, stole their truck, and then took police on a high speed chase. She ultimately crashed the stolen truck and got away. She resisted police when they finally located her to arrest her on April 30, 2019. The Clare County Sheriff’s Department handled the investigations.

She was sentenced on May 4, 2020, to prison by Judge Mienk. She was ordered to serve 23 months to 20 years, 23 months to 15 years, and 23 months to 20 years respectively on the new convictions with 370 days’ credit for time already served. She was sentenced to 17 months to 4 years on the probation violation, with credit for 395 days already served. All sentences are to run concurrent with one another. She was also ordered to pay a combined total of $15,693.60 in restitution, fines, costs, and court appointed attorney fees.
