HARRISON VFW TO DISPLAY M-60 TANK

Posted

The Harrison VFW recently received for display a decommissioned, and disabled M-60 tank. The tank remains owned by the U.S. Government, but the VFW will display and maintain it.
“It was exciting to fulfill our goal to get a static display at the post,” VFW Post Commander Scott Taylor told the Cleaver. Taylor hopes the tank will bring in new visitors and members to the post. He was appreciative of Roger Fox of Fox’s Towing for donating assistance in getting the tank unloaded. In the spring, a display area will be created and the public will be invited to an official unveiling.
This M-60 was used by a Michigan National Guard Unit, and is the model used from the Vietnam era through 1997. American Legion and VFW members were joined by Roger Fox and Joe Bradley for this photo after the tank was unloaded.
