Harrison Memorial Weekend All Roses, Rosies and Roadsters
The weather cooperated this weekend with a nice day for the Harrison Car and Bike show on Sunday. Over 94 vehicles were registered, and a many others showed up to join.
The Harrison Chamber drew for their spring raffle and two lucky people walked away with a paddle board and a kayak; Mike Hoekstra of Grand Rapids and Kathy M of Harrison.
Harrison Robotics team “Stingers of Steel” were in attendance with their robot Lucille to give young and old the chance to play catch with a robot.
More than 20 members of the motorcycle group Stilettos of Steel arrived at the Veterans Freedom Park on Sunday to meet Maye Tessner-Rood and attend the car show in downtown Harrison. Fully dressed as Rosie the Riveter, they took a photo with Maye Tessner-Rood and the bench in her honor installed last week in front of the Veterans Freedom Park. They also assisted in planting one of the three special Rosie roses in the Park. The special rose is part of a larger campaign to plant memorial rose gardens throughout the United States to honor the women who made history on the home front during World War II.
Stilettos on Steel® Female Riders Group, LLC is a female-owned business providing membership and networking services to female motorcycle riders across the United States. Their bikes certainly do not disappoint adored with flags, custom graphics and lots of bling.
