Harrison Man Arrested In Clare

Multiple Charges

On 01/21/2020 at approximately 7:20 p.m. Deputies from the Clare County Sheriff’s Office were on West 5th St. near Maple Rd.in the City of Clare on patrol, when a Blue in color Kia was traveling West on 5th St. and observed to have several equipment violations and no vehicle registration plate. Deputies turned to perform a traffic stop on the vehicle, when the vehicle turned South onto South Grant Ave and accelerated at a high rate of speed to elude the Deputies. Deputies pursued the vehicle as it continued traveling South into Isabella County until the intersection of Crawford Road and Stevenson lake Road, when the driver of the vehicle lost control and collided into a snowbank. Deputies were able to arrest the driver, a 28 year old Harrison man on multiple charges without incident.

The driver of the vehicle was lodged in the Clare County Jail pending review of charges by the Clare County Prosecutors Office.

On 01/22/2020, 28 year old Joshua Carlton of Harrison was arraigned in 80th District Court by Magistrate Worpell on the charges of Police Officer – Fleeing 4th / MV Operating Without Security / Driving While License Suspended 2nd and Operate – Unregistered Vehicle set forth by Clare County Prosecutor Michelle Ambrozaitis. Bond was set at 20,000 cash / surety 10 %.

Carlton remains lodged in the Clare County Jail.
