Harrison Man Arrested for Assault and Battery, Weapons Charges

On 08/22/2021 at approximately 1030 a.m.  the Clare County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to the 5000 block of East Arnold Lake Rd in Harrison, Michigan.  The reporting party advised that their vehicle had just been rammed by a red Chevrolet Silverado.  The driver of the Silverado then pointed a gun at the victim, and then went in to a local convenience store. The caller stated they left the scene at that time.

Central dispatch received a second call from an individual in the store that the male entered, claiming that he was just assaulted by a male.  The caller stated that he was smacked and punched by an unknown male unprovoked.

Deputies responded to the area. Deputies were able identify the man and locate him at his residence.  The male was still in possession of the firearm when deputies located him.  The male was arrested at this time and transported to the Clare County Jail. 

On 08/24/2021 Dayle Scott Russell was arraigned in the 80^th District Court by Magistrate Worpell. He was charged with the following crimes: 750.227 weapons carrying concealed, 750.226 weapons carrying with unlawful intent, 750.227b weapons felony firearms x 2, 750.82 assault with dangerous weapons x 4, and 750.81 assault and battery.  Dayle Russell was given a bond of $100,000.00 cash / surety / 10%. He remains lodged at the Clare County Jail at this time.
