Over $400,000 for the Surrey House Renovation Project Fund

Posted

The Harrison District Library is excited to share that we have raised over $400,000 for the Surrey House Renovation Project Fund. Reaching this goal would not have been possible without the generous donations and pledges from many members of our community.

The library leveraged community donations for additional matching grant funds. Matching grant funding includes $109,000 from the Herbert H. & Grace A. Dow Foundation, $75,000 from the Rollin M. Gerstacker Foundation, and $25,000 from the Charles J. Strosacker Foundation. We are extremely thankful to these generous foundations for their support of our project.

Work has begun with the replacement of the rubber membrane roofing system over the lower banquet and kitchen area. We are excited to begin the renovation process of the Surrey House. Donation to the Harrison District Library Surrey House Renovation Project Fund can be made through the Clare County Community Foundation at www.clareccf.org/giving.

The Harrison District Library has been working to keep kids busy during the summer with a new program for take-home crafts and other activities. No signup is required for a craft kit. Just stop by the Harrison District Library and pick up your craft in a bag. Take-home crafts are available to youths up to age 18. Each kit includes all the supplies you need to craft at home.
