Handgun and Methamphetamine Found on Traffic Stop

LAKE, MI. On July 30, 2021 at approximately 9 p.m., troopers from the Mount Pleasant Post performed a traffic stop on a vehicle on Beaverton Road near Lake Station Avenue in Clare County, Garfield Township.
Troopers conducted a search of the vehicle during their investigation and located a firearm whose serial numbers were intentionally altered/removed. Troopers also located suspected methamphetamine inside the vehicle.
The driver, a 23-year-old Reed City man, was arrested and lodged at the Clare County Jail. He is currently awaiting arraignment.
