GRACE MARIE McCARTER-SISCHO

Grace Marie McCarter-Sischo 75 of Harrison passed at her home on Tuesday, August 20, 2019. Grace was born November 7, 1943 in Dearborn, Michigan the daughter of Steve D. Cochran and Genevieve E. (Fethke) Cochran.

                Grace had resided in Harrison for many years prior to moving to Trenary, Michigan. On August 5, 2006, Grace was united in marriage to Mr. Luther “Bill” Sischo at Trenary Methodist Church, Trenary, Michigan. Mr. Sischo preceded Grace in death on June 30, 2012, after six years of marriage. Grace then moved back to Harrison in the Fall of 2012. Grace had spent many years as a school bus driver at Harrison Community Schools. She enjoyed traveling to Casino’s throughout Michigan, where she enjoyed gambling and making friends. Grace loved boating, fishing with her grandson and taking her grandchildren to the Clare County Fair. She found her relaxation in watching reality television shows, game shows and finding a good deal on jewelry while shopping QVC. Grace had many proud moments in life, one being in 1984 when she obtained her high school diploma, an accomplishment she worked very hard to achieve.

                Surviving Mrs. McCarter-Sischo is her loving daughter, Elaine Marie Reinke and husband Mark of Harrison, two grandchildren; Marcy Mathews and husband Russ of Midland, Michigan and Mark Reinke and wife Krista of Harrison, five great-grandchildren; Mattie Reinke, Myles Reinke, Lincoln Mathews, Myalynn Reinke and Callie Mathews, the father of her daughters; Mr. John McCarter and wife Jan of Spring Hill, Florida, two nieces; Marilyn Leonard and Debbie Adkins, two nephews; Doug Kuhn and wife Cynthia of Traverse City, Michigan and Dennis Kuhn and wife Kim of Killeen, Texas, and her beloved cat, Jack. Grace also was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Teresa “Terri” McCarter and one sister, Kathleen King.

                Funeral services honoring Mrs. McCarter-Sischo will be held Monday, August 26, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison. Visitation will take place on Monday, August 26, 2019 from 12:00-3:00 p.m. at Stocking Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Harrison.
