George Levi Nash Jr. was called to his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 4, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. George was born August 7, 1942 in Centerline, Michigan the son of George Levi Nash Sr. and Audrey (Colter) Nash. George was united in marriage to Ms. Linda Jane Robison on May 2, 1964 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. After fifty-one years of marriage, Linda preceded George in death on October 1, 2015.
Mr. Nash had resided in Pontiac, Michigan since 1975, moving from Harrison. While residing in Harrison, George and his wife Linda built, owned and operated Jack Pine Lanes (currently Snowbird Lanes) of Harrison for many years. George was a faithful member of Shalom Baptist Church of Orion, Michigan for many years. George served as a missionary for over seventeen years helping those in need and leading them to his Lord and Savior. Mr. Nash enjoyed hunting, fishing with his children and grandchildren and watching western movies and television shows. George was very proud of the beautiful flower gardens found around his home that he passionately cared for throughout the years.
Surviving George are his three loving children; George Levi Nash III of Pontiac, James Nash and wife Jennifer of Grand Blanc, Michigan and Audrey Ruth Dabbs also of Grand Blanc, six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one sister, Georgette Root of Gladwin, Michigan, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Mr. Nash also was preceded in death by his father, mother, step-mother, one sister, Ruth Ann Finney, one brother; Ralph Nash, three half-sisters; Eileen “Georgia” Honeycomb, Pauline Hammond and Annette Colter, two half-brothers; Clarence “Junior” Colter and Butch Colter, two step-sisters; Jean Stone and Joyce Hart, two step-brothers, Donald Cowell and David Cowell Sr. and one brother in law, Stanley Root.
Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. Nash will be held Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison with Pastor David Carr officiating. Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Harrison.
