GEORGE JOHANN ERHARDT JR.

George Johann Erhardt Jr. 88 of Gladwin, formerly of Harrison passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Gladwin Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. George was born October 1, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan the son of George Erhardt Sr. and Barbara (Finitzer) Erhardt. Mr. Erhardt honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. George was united in marriage to Ms. Gloria Ann Zammit on December 26, 1964 in Detroit. Gloria preceded George in death on September 26, 2018 after fifty-three years of marriage. George was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church-Harrison.

                Mr. Erhardt is survived by two daughters; Michele A. Foehringer and husband George of Kingsport, Tennessee and Jaclyn A. Navarro and husband Frank of Cape Coral, Florida, two sons; George Erhardt III of Clinton Township, Michigan and Eric Erhardt and partner Jesse Gardun’o of Sacramento, California, five grandchildren; Tonya Rzeppa and husband Evan, Trisha Stephens, Carly Foehringer, Caryn Ahlin and husband Paul and Christopher Foehringer, one great-grandson, Easton Rzeppa, two brothers; David Erhardt of California and Fred Erhardt of Tennessee, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Mr. Erhardt also was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters; Selma Early, Ann Erhardt and Teresa Macknac and one brother, Martin Erhardt.

                Funeral services for Mr. Erhardt was held Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Luke Lutheran Church, 616 South Fourth Street, Harrison, with Pastor Bill Winter officiating. Visitation took place on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Harrison. Military Honors were presented to Mr. Erhardt under the auspices of the American Legion Post 404 Honor Guard. Inurnment is in Hillcrest Cemetery, Harrison.
