Gas Truck Snags Power Line

A truck-power line accident Monday, Aug. 5 on N. Clare Avenue caused a power outage for customers in an area radiating out from the section of highway between Townline Lake Road and Cranberry Lake Road.

Harrison Fire Chief Chris Damvelt said his department got the call at 8:30 a.m. He reported that a Ziehm propane service truck snagged the power line behind Monte’s Restaurant, taking down the pole and transformer. Damvelt said that started the chain of seven power poles falling in sequence. Power was out for several hours and traffic diverted away from the affected stretch of highway.
