Posted

The Central Michigan District Health Department (CMDHD) received notification  this morning of the third death in their jurisdiction attributed to COVID-19.The individual was a middle-aged female from Clare County who passed away at home earlier this week. Lab results were received today that indicated she was positive for COVID-19.

This is the first death in Clare County that has been identified as being associated with COVID-19.

As this situation continues to evolve, they ask all residents to take the appropriate precautions. Strong community mitigation and prevention measures are already in place, and we urge you to continue to follow these recommendations:
• Stay at home. Do not leave home except for essential tasks such as getting groceries or seeking medical care.
• If you must go out, stay at least 6 feet away from others and avoid any gatherings. Also, please wear a face covering. A face covering is any well-secured cloth (like a bandana or scarf) that covers your mouth and nose.
• Wash your hands frequently for at least twenty seconds.
• Avoid touching your face.
• Disinfect commonly touched surfaces.
• Check on others. Call your loved ones and neighbors who are most at risk and see how they are doing. If they require something essential, see how you can help.
